June weather is delightful; typically in the low 20’s (°C) (low 70s °F) with a 25% chance of rain. But with global climate change, who knows what to expect?
The nearest airport is Logan International Airport (BOS). Less than one hour by MBTA (‘T‘) Public Transportation to Harvard campus; one half hour by ride share (depending on traffic …) The nearest ‘T‘ station is ‘Harvard Square‘ on the ‘Red Line’.
Boston is one hour by plane, 4 hours by AmTrak train or bus, to New York City.
Boston is in the US Eastern Time Zone; GMT – 4 hours in “Daylight Saving Time” in June (starting March 1 in 2020); ( GMT – 5 hours in “Standard Time” October – March. )
Travel
The US government has lately made travel and entry to the US more difficult for non-citizens : (
Please make sure your travel documents are in order, and your plans are made reasonably well in advance.
Lodging
Hotel rooms in the Boston/Cambridge area, especially in the week following Harvard Commencement ceremonies, are neither abundant nor inexpensive; market rate is US$400+ / night. We are working on some more affordable conference alternatives; please watch this space.
