Important note on COVID-19 consequences
15 March 2020
Dear DLA2020 participants, planned and potential –
RECENT GUIDANCE FROM HARVARD UNIVERSITY, IN LINE WITH MANY CURRENT U.S. STATE AND FEDERAL GUIDELINES, REQUIRES THAT WE CANCEL THE PHYSICAL ON-SITE DLA2020 CONFERENCE PLANNED FOR JUNE 3-5
obviously this is with deep regret, not only for our DLA community, but for the global state of affairs.
Planning for the details of an all-virtual on-line event June 3-4, that we hope you will be able to attend, is now underway;
please watch this space and look for email in the near future.
Please know that all DLA2020 registration fees already paid will be fully refunded. Regrettably we cannot help with airline, hotel, and other travel arrangements and expenses.
We recognize the global complexity and rampant uncertainties of planning in these novel COVID-19 days. Many localities, companies, and universities, in the US and world-wide, have recently enacted national and international travel bans, limits on large group meetings, and closures of many schools, events, and public facilities effective at least until April or May 2020. All global citizens are encouraged to “de-densify, distance, and isolate” in the hopes of “flattening the curve” of epidemic growth, and hopefully reducing the impact on health facilities around the world.
Authors please note that the separate ‘authors publication fee’, as well as any extra-page fees for printed pages beyond 8, are a requirement for the production of the journal JoDLA5-2020, and is required from all authors, even in the event of the cancellation of the conference, or your inability to attend. The journal publishing must go on!
These can be paid by credit card through the Secure Registration Page
